Happy recipients Jennifer Hayes (teacher) and Bridie Minehan (student) from Hennessy Catholic college received a cheque for $1000 from the Wombat Social group for their 2019 Cambodia trip.

Kathy Holding, Principal said ‘these results are impressive because they not only show a high level of achievement across a wide range of subjects but show strong individual growth and commitment to achieving a personal best. We are very proud of the Class of 2020.’ She said she was also very proud of the quality teaching which is reflected in these results.

Acting Assistant Principal – Teaching and Learning, Andrew Fouracre, said that  ‘these results demonstrate that the Hennessy curriculum caters for a wide range of interests and talents. They show a strong partnership where teachers work alongside students to help them achieve their best.’

2020 will be a year to remember and certainly one filled with challenges, particularly for Year 12 students. Hennessy Catholic College students  have faced these challenges and responded with very pleasing HSC results for 2020.

Once again, many subjects were above the stage average. These were Biology, English Studies, English (Standard), Investigating Science, Legal Studies, Mathematics Standard 2, Mathematics Standard 1, Music 1, PDHPE, Construction, Hospitality, with Ancient History and Community and Family Studies being significantly above the state average.

29.1% of students achieved either Band 5 or Band 6. 16 students were placed in the Distinguished Achievers List for receiving a Band 6 or an E4 which is the equivalent to a mark above 90. There were many delighted students and examples of students showing considerable growth.

The 2020 Dux is Bridie Minehan with an ATAR of 96.3. Bridie will be studying Law in Canberra next year.
