Early on Monday afternoon police received a complaint regarding a white Commodore with ACT registration driving dangerously and doing burnouts near Murrumburrah High School, however, it left the area before police arrived.

About 8:20pm on Monday night police stopped a white Commodore of similar description on Moppity Road several kilometers out of town. The four male occupants and the car were searched and police allegedly located a knife and drug paraphernalia.

An inspection of the vehicle allegedly revealed four smooth tyres, an exposed air filter and a missing front P plate.

The driver was issued a criminal infringement notice for offence of “possess knife”, an infringement notice for “fail to display P plates as required” and a defect notice for the defects. He was given 1 hour to drive the vehicle before it was deemed unroadworthy.

Another male occupant was also issued a criminal infringement notice for the offence of “possess knife”. Police are seeking any witnesses, whom recorded a registration number, to the dangerous driving report in Harden on Monday or anyone with dash cam. The Harden-Murrumburrah area, particularly the Murrumburrah High School and Smith Street areas have been witness to erratic driving over the last two weeks. A light coloured commodore and a yellow Yamaha roadbike were also reported to the police for being driven at excessive speed.
