District Manager of South West Slopes and Tom Mc Devitt from the Rural Fire Service were gathered at the almost completed RFS Headquarters recently.
Tom Mc Devitt commented that they have outgrown their current building and are looking forward to everything on the one site. He said that 40 % of the tradesmen used in the build have been local or regional. The storage building will hold the operational needs.
Andrew Dillon said it has been an exciting time and is eager to see the building as the focal point in training local volunteers and co-ordinating
responses between all government agencies during major emergencies.
Darren said that the building is currently on target for completion in June.
