Hard Rock Gym has gone online with dark sunglasses and a baseball cap in a call to arms style video by owner Glenn Stewart. The video showcases what the gym will be offering during the Corona Virus Pandemic.
Gyms were shut down alongside pubs and clubs by the National Cabinet and it took less than a week after that announcement for the Hard Rock Gym to hold classes online.
Owner Glenn said, “We scrambled to get equipment into town and set up online classes.” Previously Hard Rock Gym had never run online classes, however they have diversified their business model.
Approximately 30 locals have taken part in the classes which Glenn said has been great having support from our community.
The gym is currently loaning out some equipment to members after losing up to 75% of their regular memberships.
Glenn said, “We have farmed out to the community everything from weight combos, spin bikes to treadmills and class equipment packs. It’s important for everyone to maintain or improve their health at this time. Good physical health is a massive plus towards good mental health. Taking part in classes is a great way to get fit and stay connected with others.”
Hard Rock Gym is making use of Facebook and Zoom to keep in touch with their clients.
