The Harden swimming pool will be filled with Raspberry Jelly for an eating contest in to be held on April 1, in an attempt by Hilltops Council to promote Aeroplane Jelly, who will be sponsoring a new aerodrome for the region on the 3rd hole of the Harden Golf Course.
Participants will be asked to dive in at the deep end and eat their way to the other end while performing butterfly in the olympic pool.
The event has attracted a number of competition eaters including British Champ Adam Moran, who is known for eating the most Big Macs in a sitting as well as downing two Opel Combos in a 24 hour period, known in Australia as Holden Combos.
Moran is not worried about his beard slowing him down in the jelly with the British champ completing a similar challenge in Belushi’s in Shepherds Bush in 2008, where he beat 22 other competitors before downing 52 Jagerbombs.
