Emma Wells has just been signed to Devojka Models based in Canberra.
Emma has been following her passion for race day fashions and fitness competitions for a number of years. Her love for both interests has paid off with Canberra’s leading boutique TALENT agency signing the 37 year old to a contract where she will have the opportunity to work for clients including H&M Australia, COS, Geocon, Screencraft, H&M, HerCanberra, Portavie, Chachino, FSW Shoes, Canberra Centre, BYS Cosmetics, Westfield.
A spokesperson for the agency said, “We could not be more excited to introduce our brand new model Emma to the Devojka Models team. We have had our eye on Emma for a while – her portfolio and diversity are second to none. Emma has had experience in the following types of photoshoots: fashion, editorial, fitness, Commercial, bridal, beauty, product/skincare Campaign, urban and bohemian.”
Emma said, “Over the last 12 months I have been doing some collaboration shoots with 2 photographers. The agency approached me on instagram and asked to see my portfolio and then offered me a contract.”
Emma will be exclusive with the agency where they will promote her and find her jobs that she is suitable for.
She said, “I don’t really know what to expect, It’s new and exciting.”
Emma’s time spent entering fashions on the field at race meetings and fitness competitions has led to her new pursuit.
She said, “One thing led to another, I got asked to do different things and kept saying yes and this is where I ended up.”
Emma came runner up Best Dressed at the Dubai World Cup and won the Moet and Chandon Ladies Day at Randwick. “They are my two big ones.”
Emma intended to do another bodybuilding comp at the end of this year, however, said her goals have now changed. “With the modelling I need to look quite feminine and lean.”
“I never expected to be doing this at 37, but there is that gap at over 30. They have younger models and some older models but not that many within the 30s range. They have been looking for someone like that and I just fitted that.”
Emma is currently living in Young and works in insurance. It appears that she will now have to juggle her insurance brokerage commitments with her exciting new career. Emma has proven to be exceptional at both.
