A Joint statement from Yass Valley and Hilltops Council regarding the 2020 Shine Shield competition:
Due to the smoke that is currently blanketing our region, the 2020 Shine Shield swimming competition that is held annually over the coming weeks in Boorowa, Harden, Jugiong Yass, and Binalong has been cancelled.
The decision is not one that has been made lightly but due to the uncertainty surrounding the air quality across Hilltops and Yass Valley, it has been decided that it is in the best interest of all participants to cancel the 2020 competition.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this cancellation may cause.
