Paddy Smith won the ‘Crab of the week’ Cup on Saturday and celebrates with a pincer movement.

The Harden Bowlo Mudcrabs took on the Bookham Bulls at Bookham on Saturday with the local lads going down in the highway match. The boys from the banks of the Murrimboola went in to bat against the Bulls and it was a sad state of affairs, with 5 players unable to get more than 2 runs. In fact, the Mudcrabs recorded 3 ducks, 1 and 2 with Captain Nathan Schofield and Jason Pollard providing the majority of the 139 runs in the the 29 overs. Schofield hit 10 4s and reached 69 before he was caught by Armour. Pollard in his first showing for the Mudcrabs, belted 64 with 9 4s, showing that he has lost none of his hitting ability. He was stumped by Barlo after making a half century in his first innings this season.

Bookham went in to bat and with M Harvie, set about chasing down Harden’s total. Harvie hit 86 including 7 4s and was the mainstay of the innings. Harden managed to claim 5 scalps but were unable to prevent Bookham from reaching the 140 needed. Paddy Smith, Jayke Hogan and the Schofields all took a wicket while Jason Pollard stepped out from behind the stumps to record the tidy figures of 0-20 off 5 overs.

The Mudcrabs will head to Yass this Saturday to take on the Clubhouse Horns to commence the start of the next round of the competition.

December 14 will see the end of the competition for most of the teams for 2019.

The YDCA will be holding a 20-20 competition on December 14.

Both Harden sides will not be taking part in this competition as they will be playing each other in a catch up game at Tim Doolan Oval after having the Harden Picnic Races weekend off.

The Hornets have moved into 2nd place while the Mudcrabs hold down 4th place in the 7 team comp.
