Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council (CGRC) have engaged tourism and marketing specialists WISDOM to create a Tourism Branding Strategy for the region. The plan will ultimately be a new chapter on the Cootamundra, Gundagai & Villages brand story that will result in a new visual identity that is inspiring, engaging and truly reflects the unique attributes of the region.

The plan will include an in-depth brand review, strategic marketing workshop, market research, and the development of a two year marketing communication plan. WISDOM will also be obtaining valuable feedback from local residents and industry operators.

Both the Gundagai Tourism Action Committee and Cootamundra Tourism Action Committee are currently accepting applications for membership, a form for which can be located on the 355 Committee page of Council’s website. Members will be able to participate in the exciting task of implementing the two year action plan as well as the formerly adopted Tourism and Economic Development Plan.

Melissa Ritchie, Account Manager for Wisdom said the company was excited to be appointed by CGRC to undertake the project. “We’re confident that our extensive experience working with a variety of tourism regions and Councils for almost 30 years, will provide a strategic approach to the marketing plan and a positive new brand for Cootamundra, Gundagai & Villages,” Ms Ritchie said.

Ms Ritchie added, “Our experience includes marketing and brand development, integrated digital solutions, online marketing campaigns, social media strategies, website development, visitor guides, photography, video and TVC production and traditional graphic design”. WISDOM have been at the forefront in all aspects of marketing, branding and online strategies, and have assisted many destinations with a variety of projects.

From brand development, to visitor guides, marketing campaigns and web development. Some of the projects they have been involved with are The Mudgee Region, Destination Southern Highlands and Destination Wollongong. CGRC mayor Cr Abb McAlister, urged all residents who are interested in tourism to join the Tourism Action Committees. “Our Action Committees in both Cootamundra and Gundagai bring valuable information to the table, we all see different aspects of our region as tourism drawcards, and building on these attractions and encouraging visitors to our region is paramount,” Cr McAlister said.
