Our Harden Hawkettes continue to dominate the George Tooke Shield League Tag competition in 2019. They have been one of the premier sides of the League Tag and former to that Touch Football competitions for 6 years.

If you haven’t yet had the chance to see the side. make sure you do this weekend.

Their silky skills, mixed with speed, cohesion and intuitive play, has elevated the Hawkettes to the top of their game

Over the last 2 week they have continued to put their opposition to the sword.

A fortnight ago the Hawkettes took on the 5th placed UC who turned up with plenty of numbers. The Hawkettes were dominant from the very start with some very entertaining football. Clare and Georgia Smith were at there best and they led the side to a 40 to 0 margin at the break. The second half saw much of the same with Maddie Douglas scoring a great try where she ran 40 metres before chipping over the fullback to score. Clare and Georgia once again combined to score a great try to finish the game off at 64 to 0 in the Hawkettes best team performance of the season. Some of the best for Harden were Maddie Douglas, Clare Smith, Georgia Smith, Kate menz and Jess Doolan. Try scorers were Georgia Smith 4, Clare Smith 3, Grace Smith, Maddie Douglas, Bridie Minehan, Kate Menz and Tara McGrath-West while Emma James kicked 8 goals

The Hawkettes played the second placed Crookwell in bitterly cold conditions on Saturday and they started with some great attacking options. They controlled the ball much better than their opponents Crookwell, who would eventually get some field position only to be denied by great Hawkettes defence on numerous occasions.

The Hawkettes ran out winners 36 to 0 and scored some great tries. Try scorers were Georgia Smith 3, bringing her total to 34 for the season, Jess Doolan, Maddie Douglas and Tara McGrath-West.

Yet again the Hawkettes turned up and took on their rivals in clinical fashion in a great team performance. Some of the Hawkette’s best included, Jess Doolan, whose combination through the middle with Georgia Smith is really developing. Emma James’s kicking and passing was outstanding and Maddie Douglas and Grace Smith constantly threatened Crookwell with their pace. This week will see the Hawkettes play Boorowa at Harden on Saturday. The Worhawks are taking on Yass.

Get down and support this super side which has only seen their line breached once this season with 13 wins and a total of only 12 points scored against them.
