Josh Richards aboard Tocatchacod.

The Spackman stable kicked off their 2019/2020 SDRA season with a nice win in the first race at Gundagai on Sunday.

Tocatchacod beat home 10 rivals to claim the 1180 meter  Hahn Super Dry Colts geldings and Entires Maiden handicap in Race 1.

Tocatchacod looks to have plenty of promise after just his 3rd start with the previous outing at Wagga yielding a 4th place, just 4 lengths off the winner Calescent on April 19. The gelding was spelled for 18 weeks before the Gundagai run on August 4.

Trainer Scott Sapckman said, “What an awesome start to the season. Tocatchacod was very impressive winning the first race by a length. Great ride by our super apprentice Josh Richards.”

Takissacod, another of Spackman’s runners finished 4th in her first ever race start and made up good ground, hitting the line hard at the finish.
