Bridie Minehan has returned from a weekend of League Tag where she represented the Monaro U16s side during a gala day in Yass. Players who made up the side came from Narooma, Bega and Central Coast. Bridie joined another player from Bungendore in the regional side. Her side won 2 matches out of 3 and they came in second place in the tournament. Bridie said, “It was really good, I didn’t know any of the girls and I hadn’t trained with them before but they were all really nice and I fitted in to the team well.
Bridie is in Year 11 at Hennessy Catholic College and turns out for the Hawkettes ladies side, however, she is still eligible to play a junior level of league tag. She plays in the Centre position for the Hawkettes but slotted into half back on the weekend. Bridie gets to play with her older sister Marylou and she enjoys being able to see her on the weekends. Marylou shares Bridie’s skills and is a valuable member of the Hawkettes who are flying high heading into the final series which commences in the next few weeks.
