A smashing first quarter by the Coota Blues has enabled them to score a 52 pt. win over Murrumbateman played at the Murrumbateman Recreation Ground on Saturday.

In the opening quarter the Blues booted 6-6 to 0-0. In the remaining three quarters the match was an even contest with the BLUES booting 10-6 to 9-2.

The final score was Cootamundra 16-12-108 to Murrumbateman 9-2-56.

The Blues were certainly fast out of the blocks in the first quarter. The opening quarter was dominated by a couple of stellar performances.

Pint sized Jack Caldwell weaved his magic through the packs, booting three goals.

Scott Mazzocchi played his best game of the season. His marking was a feature of his strong match.  Mazzocchi also booted three goals in a classy performance.       

Coacxh Luke Webb got through plenty of work around the ground. Like Caldwell and Mazzocchi, Webb was dominating in the first quarter that set up victory for the Blues. 

Full forward Sandy Maskell Knight was well held in the opening two quarters, however he broke out in the third quarter with two goals. The big fellow booted the Blues three goals in the last quarter. Saturday’s match gives Sandy 52 goals for the season.

Nest Saturday the Blues play the second placed side the Southern Cats at the neural venue of Yass.

The Blues women went down by seven pts. in a see seeing match to Tuggeranong 5-5-35 to 4-4-28.
