The township of Harden – Murrumburrah seems to be sufferring from a lack of rental accomodation. Jeremey Pearsall and his partner Stevi-Jean Griffiths have been living with family for the last 12 months as they have been unable to secure a rental property.
Jeremey and Stevi-Jean moved to Young from Harden 2 years ago for work committments and have since returned to the twin towns as they gained employment back in their home town. Jeremey said that whilst in Young they lived in two premises and that they always did their best by the land lord. He said one of the real estate agents commented when they left their last rental that they had left the home in better condition than what is was when given to them.
With a baby due in the next week Jeremey and Stevi-Jean feel the only option for them is to stay in a bedroom at Jeremey’s mother’s house while they await the arrival of the baby. He said it is an added stress during a time of happiness.
“Its been hard to get our lives together and back underway in Harden after doing our own thing for the last couple of years. We just want somewhere to live and there are no properties available.”
A local real estate agent said there has been a shortage of homes recently which has added stress to the market.
Jeremey and Stevi-Jean have placed an advertisment in the classifieds of today’s newspaper asking for any available rentals. If you are able to assist with locating them a rental property they would be very interested in talking with you.
