Harden’s Supa IGA store has just completed a charity drive to gather food for cats and dogs in need in the regional area.
The store has partnered with Temora residents and animal rescuers Marshal and Rhonda Helmen and animal rescuer Rachael Krnc of Canberra to supply food to animals who have been rescued from pounds and unsuitable circumstances.
Glenn Woodward (Harden Supa IGA) ran the promotion for 3 months and said he wanted to thank the shoppers at the store for their generosity.
The store matched the donations made locally 1 for 1. The value of the goods came in at over $1000 and the store also donated $500 out of its community chest fund to help cover vet bills.
Though based in different areas the Helmens and Rachael cross paths regularily as they venture to towns such as Dubbo, West Wyalong, Lightning Ridge, Harden Coota and Young transporting and re-homing the animals.
