Robert Bradly has written six books on the famous automobile – the Armstrong Siddeley. Robert has penned 3 technical books, 1 historical and 1 coffee table edition.
Robert’s latest venture covers the years from 1919 to 1960 and spans 41 years of production. Robert bought his first Armstrong Siddeley at 17 and his passion for them developed. As much as he loves the make he said “they haven’t made the perfect car yet and if they did it would be so drab nobody would enjoy it”.
Robert said that the thing that set the Armstrong Siddeley apart from other cars was the preselective gearbox, which would allow for fast gear changes. He went on to say they may have been the only manufacturer of the time to offer this style of gearbox as well as manual and automatic options.
Roberts passion also extends in to writing feature articles in the Restored Cars Magazine and said he hasn’t missed contributing to an issue in the last 18 years.
Robert has spent 5 years compiling his current book and it contains 318 pages. He had it printed at Atlas Printing in Cootamundra and the book is available from him direct on 6386 4348.
