Harden Red Devils President Harry Sachs on Friday morning.

He is the man with the leg brace and the limp. Harden Rugby Club President Harry Sachs has had 3 knee operations on his left knee in the past 2 and a half years and he is lining up for his 4th in September this year.

Sachs has played everywhere from the Second Row to the Wing, unselfishly doing what was required so that Harden had 15 men on the filed over the last few years.

Son of former Devils player and club stalwart and former coach Hugo Sachs, Harry has Rugby in the blood. His dedication to the club over the last 3 seasons has been stellar.

Carrying injured knees into the seasons and then injuring them further has been a by-product of Sachs involvement with the Devils.

His knees don’t worry him much and it doesn’t stop him from carrying out his duties as President or his duties to his Rural contracting business. Harry gets on with the job.

He is super excited about this Saturday’s match where the club has plenty planned for the GF against the Temora Tuskers at Robert’s Park.

Spectators can take part in a Devil’s luncheon at the Terracotta Restaurant which commences at 12:30pm before heading over to the ground around 2:00pm. Those wishing to attend the luncheon need to contact the Terracotta Restaurant on 63 862 730

The day will also celebrate the sponsors with a special tent with food and beverages available during the afternoon.

The bar and bbq will be in operation early in the pm and will continue late into the night, regardless of the result for the Harden men.

A fully signed Wallabies Jersey will be going up for auction with the proceeds going to the family of Isaac Paterson who passed away on July 28.

Harden’s Paul O’Connor helped secure the jumper from Rugby Australia who are very happy to assist the family at this time.

Isaac was employed by Devil’s President Harry Sachs and worked alongside Harden’s powerhouse Second Rower Ben Brady.

Harry said, “Isaac was apart of our contracting team and he was a great bloke. We will miss him very much. We hope that the Wallaby’s Jersey can go for some big money and it might help in a small way, Isaac’s family during this time.”

It has been 12 years since the Devils last played in, and won a Grand Final in 2006 after also winning a First grade Premiership in 2004 and a Reserve Grade Premiership in 2005.

A crowd of up to 800 hundred spectators including a large contingent of ‘old boys’ and past players will be in attendance.

200 caps have also been ordered and will be available for purchase on the day.

Kick-off is at 3:15pm, be there or be square.
