Wombat is preparing to host its first annual Pink Stumps and Community Fun Day, later this month, with an array of events and attractions on offer. The McGrath Foundation and the Wombat Social Group will benefit, with the social group in-turn supporting local charities. There will be a cricket match played throughout the day, with Wombat and Nubba each competing for victory.
Entry will be a gold coin donation, with anyone who fails to dress themselves thematically in pink receiving a $2 fine. Kids will be well-catered for, with jumping castle, a slip and slide, and face painting ensuring they will be entertained all day long. The main charity event will take place from 5pm at the Wombat Hotel, and will consist of an auction with an array of items up for grabs. Harden Bearings & Hardware have provided a cricket bat and pink ball.
Other items include a signed Sydney Swans Premiership Singlet, and a family pass for the Sydney Roosters also to be auctioned off. The day kicks off from 10am, there will be a DJ providing music throughout the day, with Brian Cassidy from Yass playing at the Hotel.
