The Department of Human Services, Mobile Service Centre was in town on Monday, as part of the department’s attempt to provide its services to regional and remote Australians. The bus, which provides nearly all the services a traditional office offers as well as hearing tests, was located in front of the Harden train station. The Department has two air-conditioned buses, which periodically travel across all of Australia visiting towns and villages that do not benefit from a permanent Human Services shop front. Within the Hilltops Council region, the bus visited Boorowa, Harden and Bribbaree, with the bus’ travels advertised primarily on Facebook.
