The Harden Hawks went to Crookwell today to attempt to win 3 Grand Finals in the George Tooke Shield and came home with two.
Hawks First Grade Captain Luke Brown with the George Tooke Shield and his number 1 supporter, mum Wendy Brown.
The Youth League side kicked off proceedings with a slick display of their power over their North Canberra Bears opposition. The young Hawks ran out winners 36 points to 0. Pat Smith scored 3 tries whilst Rory Bolger, Brent Shoard, Will Stanley and Joe Stewart each crossed the white line. Ryan daley kicked 4 goals. The Hawks are having a party!
The ladies league tag match saw Harden go down in a close one 28-16 against the undefeated Bungendore Tigerettes. A 5 tries to 3 loss which went down to the line.
For the first time since 2009 Harden has claimed the George Tooke Shield by defeating the Crookwell Green Devils by just 2 points. Goals were the difference in the end with both teams scoring 4 tries a piece.
The team buses will be heading back to the Carrington Hotel after the presentations
