Alice Lewis, Emily Daley and Tara Parker are in the running for this years’ Young Woman of the Year.

136th Harden Community Bank Show 2024

 

A ‘meet and greet’ event was held at the Showground in the Secretary’s Office on the 9th of November.

The judging also took place at this event. The Judges were Michelle and Jack Slaven from Bendick Murrell, and Katrina Dougdale from Jugiong.

The entrants this year were Emily Daley, Alice Lewis and Tara Parker. The winner will be announced at the show.

Harden Murrumburrah Historical Society is putting on a display in the old school building – Daphne Hilton (Ceeney) – first Paralympian There will be horses, cattle, sheep and pavilion displays.

 

Kids activities from 1pm to Fireworks including camel rides, face painting, petting zoo, arts and craft.

It will be $40 for an all day entertainment pass which will keep the kids entertained for the day.

Mr Boom Boom is the Fireworks provider. He ensures the display is bigger and better each year. Fireworks kick off at 8:30pm. Approx 10-15 minute display.

QuickShear from 1pm and the Woodchop from 12noon.

Ringers Western Truck will be there all day.

President Andrew Jones said, “It’s shaping up well and we are trying to be accommodating for everyone in the community.”

“It will be more cost effective. We want a show that the whole town can attend without spending massive amounts of money.

 

“There will be free kids events from 1pm. We have camel rides and Fairy La-La will be doing shows from 1pm through until the fireworks, which is a free event for everyone as well.

“The Fairy show is suitable for boys and girls. It was very popular when we had it a few years ago.

“We have the quick shear and we have $10,000 for first prize in the opens. Sponsors will be on their singlets, and we announce them throughout the day. The major sponsor is Hilltops Diesel.

“There will be plenty of marquees and shade and it will be located next to the wood chop (where it was last year).

“The chooks, horses and show dogs are back. The dog high jump is near the secretary’s office and that is part of the evening show, along with the Dachshund race which is sponsored by Matt and Mel from DC Flooring.

 

“The fireworks will be at 8.30pm.

“We are promoting it as an afternoon, evening show and there will be food there so people don’t have to go home and come back.

The 3:00pm time slot will allow patrons to spend 5 or so hours at the show and see everything, have dinner and watch the fireworks.

“There will be plenty of entertainment for people to enjoy right through.

“We still have all the traditional show stuff like the cattle, sheep, horses, pavilion etc, that will start in the morning, so we can get all the animals home.
