The Harden She Devils have once again used their speed and athleticism to good use, disposing of the larger Boorowa side 59-0 on Saturday.
Leila Maddox and Kelsey Hogan were the main scorers.
Maddie Douglass got over the white line as did Izzy Manchester.
The She Devils previously beat Boorowa 40-12, however, this time kept them scoreless at Harden.
Regular goal kicker Maddie Douglass went off with an injury and She Devils trainer Roger Douglass did an excellent job in teaching Izzy Hardwick how to kick conversions on the go. She hit the post with her first, while the second one sailed through, much to the crowd and team’s excitement.
Roger Douglass delivers some on the go training to Izzy Hardwick after his daughter Maddie left the field due to injury. Izzy hit the post with her first attempt and then slotted the second. If you need a kicking coach, contact Roger, the man can get a job done. Well done Rog and Izzy.
Boorowa had a bigger side in the forwards and Harden had to go around them with their speed.
Coach John Manchester said, “We haven’t got the size in the forwards that they have. We can’t play around with the ball in the forwards too much. We have to play the game to our strengths, which is our pace out wide.
“It was a big day for the Devils alongside a minute’s silence for club legend Graham ‘Polly’ Thurkettle and the Annie McGuigan Shield which was won by Boorowa in 2023 for the first time.
“This week we have Grenfell at home. Grenfell are strong in the girls. They are right behind us. They are quite handy in the forwards.
The next couple of weeks will be tough for the girls.
“Then we play Temora, who are the leaders. Temora have a couple of older heads that have been there for a while and are quite experienced in the forwards. They also have some young girls that are coming through that are quite handy too. Said Manchester.
Kick off is at 2pm at Robert’s Park.
