Harden-Murrumburrah’s Grace Kemp.

Local Rugby League talent Grace Kemp appears to have made the NSW team for game one of the State of Origin series in Brisbane next Thursday.

The Sky Blues team was predicted by the Sydney Morning Herald this morning, which is as follows:

1 Emma Tonegato (Sharks)

2 Jaime Chapman (Titans)

3 Jessica Sergis (Roosters)

4 Isabelle Kelly (Roosters)

5 Tiana Penitani (Sharks)

6 Corban Baxter (Roosters)

7 Rachael Pearson (Eels)

8 Millie Elliott (Roosters)

9 Olivia Higgins (Knights)

10 Caitlan Johnston (Knights)

11 Kezie Apps (Tigers)

12 Yasmin Clydsdale (Knights)

13 Olivia Kernick (Roosters)

14 Taliah Fuimaono (Titans)

15 Sarah Togatuki (Tigers)

16 Keeley Davis (Roosters)

17 Grace Kemp (Raiders)

18 Jakiya Whitfeld (Cowboys)

19 Kirra Dibb (Cowboys)

Kemp was an ACT Brumbies representative who debuted for the Wallaroos and who played in the most recent Rugby World Cup.

She transitioned to Rugby League and had an amazing first game for the Canberra Raiders in 2023 before embarking on consistent performances which wowed the competition and did her family, town and club proud.

Speculation was rife leading into the announcement that the selectors would be unable to leave her out of the side, such has been her performances over the last 12 months and her natural talent for the 13 a side woman game, including representing the Indigenous side.

A formal announcement is expected later today which should see Kemp elevated to the interchange bench and make history for the twin-towns as their first origin player ever.
