The Harden District Education Foundation gave back to the community that has done so much for them by having an April 1st entertainment extravaganza at the Harden Racecourse Pavilion.
The event saw a tidal wave of locals hit the Racecourse to meet paralympic gold medallist Michael Milton and magician Liam Power. Those attending also enjoyed a three-course meal and drink on arrival.
Georgie Loiterton of the HDEF said the night was about celebrating the community.
“Hearing about the figures, over the 21 years we have donated over a million dollars’ worth of support which is due to the support of the Harden community which is a huge amount,” she said.
“We are lucky since we are one of the most financially stable education foundations in NSW, we are definitely very successful.
“We had about 175 guests at the Harden Racecourse, it was a really great group of people. We had a really great turnout of past recipients. “We had a lot from our first crop which is amazing.
“We had people throughout, we had lots of parents and a lot of donors and sponsors there which is great to see where the money is going and put faces to names. “We had a beautiful mix of people. “The vibe of the night was really heart-warming since it was for support.
“Everyone was excited for what the education foundation has achieved at that time.
“We’re not sure how much we have raised, we think around the ten thousand mark, but the point of the night wasn’t really to raise money, so much of what we do is raise money but we wanted to do this to give back to the community.
“Our goal was more about celebrating than anything.
“We wanted to make it a really special night, we had a raffle which is why we didn’t do as many auction items, we didn’t want to pressure people.
“The venue was perfect; it was so beautiful. “We were lucky to do it the last day of daylight savings and the weather was perfect.
