After receiving funding from two separate grants at the start of 2022, the Harden Bowling Club hasrecently completed all upgrades at the facility.
The Harden Bowling Club received two grants last year, including $50,000 under the Stronger Country Communities Fund Round 4, and $30,000 under the Community Building Partnerships for two separate projects.
The $50,000 grant went towards the overall upgrades of the facility, while the $30,000 went towards the Women’s Bowling Club, which has all been suitably used.
The Harden Bowling Club also used $50,000 of their own money to help with the upgrades of its facilities. Re-elected Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke attended the Harden Bowling Club on Tuesday, 18 April, along with President Shane McKellar and Vice President Richard (Dick) Walsh to see the upgrades in person.
McKellar was pleased that the Harden Bowling Club was able to secure the grant money which allowed them to pursue much needed upgrades around the facility.
“We applied for two grants and now the construction work is all just about finished. The money went towards a new pergola over the barbecue area, brickwork, a new concrete slab around the green, new shade sails and scoreboards, new Colorbond fence, two 25,000 litre water tanks, and a new pump,” McKellar said.
