The devastating floods that have torn through regional NSW communities across the area have left many feeling the effects of the disaster.

Eugowra was one of the towns hit hardest by the flooding which is what inspired the Eugowra Flood Recovery Benefit Night at the Harden Country Club last Saturday, which raised a huge figure for the victims of the floods.

Organiser Peter O’Connor chose Harden as the destination for the flood relief concert due to the similarities he felt the two towns had and decided to rally the community with a meal, live entertainment from Wickham Lane and a live auction.

The night also celebrated Irish and Celtic heritage, celebrating a late St Patricks Day and what better way to do that than with Hilltops-based vocal harmony group, Wickham Lane.

The group, comprised of Julie O’Connor, John Roxburgh, Eris Gleeson, Lindel Roxburgh, Peter O’Connor and Peter Roberts, are regular performers at the Yass Irish and Celtic Festival and have been for the last few years.

Peter O’Connor said the final figure isn’t in yet but so far approximately $5,000 dollars has been made to help those struggling from the floods.
