That was tough, 2/8 in a week that could’ve been 6/8 had a few points went the other way in a few of the games.
Though it was a bad week tipping, my week only got worse with news from my doctor that I need a knee reconstruction and a new liver. The positive from having a horror week last week is that you’d hope this week can’t be any worse, though if it does somehow manage to get worse and I go 0/8 and find out I need a new kidney as well I might just have my first week off.
Game one, Roosters vs Eels, Col’s tip, Roosters by 6.
The Roosters are traditionally poor coming off a bye and they face the Eels who are sure to be brimming with confidence after their emphatic win against the Penrith Panthers.
It’s just hard to imagine a fresh team losing against a side who’s just went 100 minutes with the reigning premiers.
Game two, Raiders vs Panthers, Col’s tip, Panthers by 10. What an embarrassing defeat for Canberra last week, Newcastle were undermanned and still were the significantly better team leaving Canberra with their head in the hands and in big trouble for this week.
Penrith will be hungry after losing in golden point and will bounce back in Canberra. Game three, Rabbitohs vs Storm, Col’s tip, Storm by 10. Similar to the tip against the Eels I find it hard to tip a side who won in golden point against a top side, Melbourne are off their best at the moment but they live for these big games and as their stars continue to regain fitness they will get better. I expect a statement from Melbourne here.
Game four, Sea Eagles vs Knights, Col’s tip, Sea Eagles 13+
The Sea Eagles were unlucky not to win last week whilst the Knights fought hard and deserved their win. Unfortunately for the Knights, the Sea Eagles are a tier above and playing at Brookvale will only make the chances of a blowout even more likely.
