Harden Junior Rugby League are set for an exciting week with NRL legend and current NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler and his ‘Hogs 4 Homeless’ campaign passing through the Twin Towns next Monday from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm.
Fittler has run the program for 10 years and has raised nearly one million dollars for ‘Youth Off The Streets’ since. The ride is run in conjunction with NSWRL who have identified 11 regions for Fittler to visit during his ride to promote the game at a grassroots level.
Fittler and his legendary companions will be gracing McLean Oval and will hope to spread wisdom not only about the homeless but also about the game of rugby league.
Harden Junior Rugby League will also have a registration day at the Murrumburrah Public School from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the library at the school next Thursday, February 16. Harden Junior Rugby League representative Letitia Beal is looking forward to a busy week for the Club.
“The Hogs 4 Homeless registrations went out last week and its been well supported, however prospective players will need to ensure that they sign up for the 2023 season also. “One of the many things Brad Fittler will be discussing is the tackle-ready program and his thoughts on that which should be good as it is a rather large topic of interest.
“There’s been a bit of confusion around the tackle-ready program and there have been people saying that the children won’t be able to tackle until they’re 12 and that’s not true so it will be good for Freddy to explain that to the under 7s and 6s parents.”
With a busy week on the cards for Harden’s footballing youth, it’s great to see Harden football continuing to grow the love of the game amongst children.
