Harden connections seem to have found themselves quite the talented racehorse with three-year-old gelding ‘Mogo Magic’.

The horse in his first two starts has completely dominated the field winning both races by 3+ lengths.

The horse is trained by well-respected Goulburn Trainer Scott Collings.

Collings also trains ‘Ten Bells and ‘Garratt Road’ both owned by Harden connections.

The two victories for the gelding both featured jockey Nick Heywood aboard, though, with Nick’s recent injury scare, the talented three-year-old may have to be ridden by a new hoop.

Heywood also rode the gelding in a trial win before its maiden and is three from three including trials when riding ‘Mogo Magic’.

The gelding was bred for short-course success with its dam ‘Zoumagic’ being a multiple-time winner over 1000 metres and its sire ‘Duporth’ being a group one winner over 1200 metres.

There’s been a few similarities between ‘Mogo Magic’s two career starts and victories. Both starts he’s been a short-priced favourite opening at $1.55 in his maiden win at Sapphire Coast and opening at an even shorter $1.40 when winning on Wagga’s Riverside.

The betting support the gelding received in his second outing came as no surprise after an emphatic maiden win at Sapphire Coast, though the amount of support it received even being up in weight and distance is a testament to the ability of the three-year-old.

As for who may replace jockey Nick Heywood in ‘Mogo Magic’s next race if Heywood is still not fit, it would seem as though Amy McLucas would be next in line.

McLucas rode the horse in its only other race to date finishing second in an open trial at Goulburn. Others in contention to ride ‘Mogo Magic’ are Matthew Cahill and Jordan Mallyon, both of which have plenty of experience riding Collings-trained geldings.

Regardless of who’s aboard ‘Mogo Magic’ in his third career start, he’s sure to start at short odds once again and with the ridiculous amount of potential he’s shown so far. Albeit him still being a bit green, there’s no reason he won’t continue to win and he’s definitely one punters will be keeping an eye on.

Trainer Scott Collings may rate him the highest out of everyone with Collings comparing the three-year-old to a young ‘Handle the Truth’.

The 2019 Kosciuszko winner has collected $1.7 million throughout his career but Scott Collings who worked with the horse’s trainer Keith Dryden thinks ‘Mogo Magic’ can be every bit as good.

“I think (Mogo Magic) can be as good yes, it’s a big call, he’s definitely going in that direction,” Collings said.

‘Mogo Magic’ at the time of writing has no races pencilled in. Keep an eye out for him though there’s every chance he will be a future star.
