The Harden Swimming Pool is open and is welcoming people of all ages to come down and have a swim.
Though the people involved in the pool are more than welcoming, the weather has been a lot less hospitable to the idea of Harden locals going down and making a splash at the pool.
Despite poor conditions, the pool still managed to bring in around 50 people for its yearly open day on November 5th.
The open day encourages new members of the Harden-Murrumburrah community to test out our local swimming pool before committing to a season ticket.
Whilst the weather has deterred from swimming recently, lifeguard Chloe Wade said, “It’s been a bit fresh but hopefully when it warms up a bit more we’ll get some people in.”
The pool has brought in plenty of new lifeguards along with experienced lifeguards returning to the pool to ensure a safe and fun time for everyone.
“We have three senior Lifeguards for the Harden pool, plus Eliza Butt, who normally runs the Jugiong pool and then we’ve got a fair few new junior lifeguards starting as well,” said Chloe.
The pool’s canteen will be filled to the brim again with delicious treats for all supervisors to snack on whilst waiting for the kids to enjoy their fun in the sun, and potentially even for the kids if they behave well enough.
The Harden Swimming Club continues to grow in popularity with it providing a great outlet for kids to have fun and make new friends.
Swimming Club is held on Monday’s and Tuesday’s each week along with the Club Night Events on Wednesday.
There is plenty to do at the Harden pool, with Chloe saying, “the local swim club comes most days with their time trails and sometimes there’s private swimming lessons as well as aqua aerobics.”
Season ticket prices cost $88 for children, $110 for adults, $58 for students and a family (2 kids and 2 parents) cost $237.50.
The season tickets are available at the Hilltops Council Office in Harden.
Though the pool is lots of fun, it’s always important to follow rules set in place to make life easier for the lifeguards and more importantly make the pool as safe as possible for everyone.
Make sure you slip-slop-slap seek and slide this summer.
