At approximately 12:20am RP389 responded to a motor vehicle accident on Burley Griffin Way.

Three teams responded to the crash with one Fire and Rescue NSW Station 389 Harden truck and two Rural Fire Service trucks.

The Motorist was travelling in a tradies van from Griffith to Sydney.

Upon arrival crews found the single van with a large amount of damage after it had left the roadway.

The van left the road and rolled multiple times before landing back on its wheels and the driver of the van had been able to self-extract prior to crews arriving.

The driver was assessed at the same by ambulance and given mandatory drug and alcohol testing by the police.

The Fire and Rescue teams quickly rendered the area safe and returned to the station a short time later.

Station commander of the 389 Harden Fire and Rescue Wal Leonow said, “We were there for probably an hour with the police from Young and ambulance attendant assisting.”

“We had the tow truck clean up the wreck whilst having some traffic control in place for a bit with one line shut for a short while,” he continued.
