The Harden Worhawks fell victim to the Tuggeranong Bushrangers last Saturday but showed great improvement from the previous week when they lost 70-0.

They just about halved the deficit vs the Bushrangers and were also able to get on the board losing 38-4 with Hunter Ings being the lone Harden try-scorer.

Coach David Ings was happy with the ladies’ improvement saying.

“We were reasonably competitive throughout the game, we were always the underdogs going in as a lower team on the ladder vs a team a bit higher than us, but we did well not to play like an underdog.

“We’ve got three regular-season games left, and I’m hoping we can train hard and have a crack in these final rounds.

“Once the season is complete we will play in the 2nd tier finals, which I think is a great concept to have the 2nd tier finals. It gives our girl’s a chance to learn what it is like to play a sudden death series and just get a feel for how the finals are.”

In what is the teams third season playing football they’ve taken tremendous strides and have plenty to be proud of.

Whilst the team will continue to add new players, it’s always nice to talk about the ‘long-stayers’ of the team in Melissa Ings, Jen McKay and Bec Halls, who have all been playing since the club’s inauguration in 2019.

Melissa will be hanging up the boots at the end of the season.

The side will use the bye week they have this week, to train hard before playing top-of-the-table Yass Magpies.

The Magpies currently boast an undefeated record, but what better time to start losing than now vs our beloved Worhawks.

David Ings said the team has every chance in the world as long as they believe they do, and with that type of confidence who knows what will happen.
