The Hawkettes ‘Twinnies’ as they are affectionately known, can spark an attack from anywhere on the field.
Following the Hawks 22-10 loss on the road to the Bulldogs last Saturday, The Times caught up with Nick Hall to get his reactions on the game.

“I think Coota were more urgent than us. They wanted it all day. Their urgency and desire lasted the full 70 minutes. They were keener to do the job and we felt like we had to do the job. We probably dragged our feet into it a little bit,” Hall said.
“It was very physical and competitive but there were a couple of key moments and nice touches from Jordy [Ballard] who made some key plays.”
The 2022 ledger between the two clubs now sits at 1-all, with both sides winning their home game, which will make for a mouthwatering contest should they meet in the finals later on in the season.
“They didn’t turn their toes up when they got beaten at the start of the season, they came back and are going quite well. That’s our challenge now, we’re not going to turn our toes up after one loss,” Hall continued.
“One win doesn’t make your season, one loss doesn’t lose it. I told the boys you’re never as good as you think you are and never as bad as you think you are. We’ll come back next week and fix it.”
The whole George Tooke Shield competition will have break this weekend as scheduled in the fixture, but the Hawks will return in round 13 against the Brahmans in Binalong, with kick-off at 2:15 pm.
The Manwaring brothers however are unavailable for the next two weeks, which will place some pressure on the squad.
“They’ll be a loss, but Luke Brown will be back next game. He was a loss for us last weekend, we missed his talk and that he sticks us together a little bit and has a bit of polish.”
Whilst the Hawks went down, the Hawkettes once again showed their dominance over the Bullettes in the curtain raiser.
Jason Pollard’s girls turned up the heat on the Coota side, dictating the play from start to finish.
The Hawkettes managed to score eight tries in the game, with Maddie Douglass and Georgia Smith each scoring two, while Clare Smith, Courtney Barratt, Chloe Muggleton and Emma James all crossing for a single.
The Hawkettes will take on the Jersey Girls from 1 pm in round 13 on Saturday 23 July.
