Last Friday, a number of staff and students from Trinity Catholic School, took their learning to the streets of Murrumburrah when they visited ‘The Bee Shop’ as part of their celebration and recognition of World Bee Day.
They were treated to a fabulously informative talk from local Beekeeper, Ken Tanson. Ken had the students and the staff intrigued with his wealth of knowledge and willingness to answer the multitude of inquisitive questions from the students.
Our town is very fortunate to have such a wonderful asset in the Bee Shop and the owners, Ted and Eileen, both of whom give generously of their time to promote the value of bees to the wellbeing of the community.
Back at school, the students were treated to Honeycomb making with parent, Ali Betts and a variety of Bee Activities with teachers in their classrooms, including a shared learning experience from our resident student bee-keeper, Hamish Summerfield.
