Harden’s very own Grace Kemp will head into camp with the Wallaroos this Friday on the Gold Coast before she embarks on a tour of New Zealand commencing June 2.

Australia will take on the Kiwis, the Canadians and the United States.

The Wallaroos are currently ranked 6th in the world while Canada is 3rd, New Zealand is 2nd and the United States is 7th, meaning Grace and her fellow squad members will be up against some quality opposition.

Grace put in a strong performance playing for the Australian Barbarians against Japan and in one particular run from the base of the scrum, skittled several players on her way to the try line where she was brought down just metres short.

Grace has been learning from current senior Wallaroos and will be taken over to cover the positions 6 and 8, which in the old terminology is Blindside Flanker and Lock.

At 20, Grace will turn 21 while on tour, 2 days after her side takes on the Black Ferns.

She said, “That would be a great birthday present if I got to play.”

It will be the longest time out of the country on her own after she toured Fiji in 2019 for 11 days where her parents Paul and Kirsty made the trip over.

Training is in full swing.

She said, “We have been training everyday and it’s getting harder each week.”

Grace has returned to club football at Royals where she has helped her local side win their last 2 matches.

The Wallaroos will play on the following dates with matches televised on Stan.

New Zealand 6 of June 12:45pm Tauranga, United States 12 of June The Trusts Arena and Canada 18 of June at Semenoff Stadium at 11:30am.

Make sure you check your local guides.

Keep an eye out for any news that Grace has made the final squad over the next few weeks for any of the games.

At such a young age Grace is set for what will hopefully be at least a decade long career playing at the top of the sport.
