Grace Kemp put in an excellent performance against the Japanese side.
Hardens very own rugby superstar Grace Kemp was selected to play for the Australian Barbarians against Japan late last week.
Grace showed her skill and determination throughout the match, highlighted by 40 metre run where she used her strength to break the line hurdling the last two players be fore being brought down just metres before the Japanese try line.
The Barbarians scored from the ensuing play giving Grace a very visible assist. Grace had a strong SuperW season with the Brumbies side, where she played in the Second row and the Backrow and in a number of those matches played the entire duration.
Grace has been selected as apart of a 39 woman squad to take part in this year’s World Cup. Her current form is scintillating and she will only continue to get better as she enters her mid 20s.
Unfortunately for Grace’s Barbarians, Japan survived the spirited effort, securing a 24-10 victory where they scored 4 tries to 2.
The Barbarians strength was in their scrums and this kept them in the contest as they bullied their opposition in the first half.
Grace and fellow brumby Lillian Mason-Spice did their Wallaroos chances no harm as they tried to will their side back into the contest.
Graces devastating run from the back of the scrum caught the eye of everyone in the stadium.
