Well that wasn’t very magical now was it? After going 3/8 and being diagnosed with kidney failure this week, I really couldn’t have gone much worse. But as my dear mother Delilah used to say.
“The best way to get over something was to get on to something else”, or maybe it was someone else. Well my friends, whist I ponder about if my mother was really an inspirational poet or just some randy woman, lets start this week’s tips!
Game One, Knights vs Broncos. Col’s Tip, Broncos 13+
As much as it pains me to say it. The Broncos look a top eight hopeful. Adam Reynolds the little magician had Manly on strings the entire game and delivered one of the best performances of his career. He’s in career best form right now and I love watching it. Newcastle picked up a scrappy win last week against the Bulldogs but the Broncs being in this form riding this wave of momentum will see them win comfortably at McDonald Jones Stadium.
Game Two, Tigers vs Bulldogs. Col’s Tip, Bulldogs by 6.
Potentially an unpopular tip this one but I really like it. I think Trent Barrett was far from the problem at the Dogs but he still was a contributing factor. They’re going to have somewhat of a “New Coach Bounce” and I can see the Dogs having a pep in their step as they just win against an inconsistent Tigers team.
Game Three, Eels vs Sea Eagles. Col’s Tip,
Eels by 10. Both teams put in disappointing performance’s last week and both will be desperate to bounce back. I like Parramatta in this one, purely for the fact that they’ve got a better forward pack. It’s an easy game Rugby League when gaining 65 metres a set and just the go forward of Paulo and RCG should be plenty for them to get over the line.
Game Four, Dragons vs Warriors. Col’s Tip, Warriors by 8.
Both losers last week but the Warriors looked significantly more promising at the back end, nearly pulling off one of the biggest comebacks in NRL history, just falling short by 2 to the Rabbitohs. I’m bravely assuming we will see more of the second half Warriors this week and they’ll beat the Dragons on the road.
Game Five, Cowboys vs Storm. Col’s Tip, Storm by 10.
I believe Cam Munster put it best last week when he said ‘we played like a bunch of under 7s, and we were simply not good enough’ but I like the opportunity for Bellyache’s Boys to bounce back this week. On the road, expectations low and surprisingly plenty of punters backing the Cowboys. Though I’m a big believer in what Todd Payten is doing up north, I think Melbourne will show them levels here.
Game Six, Roosters vs Panthers. Col’s Tip, Roosters by 2.
I just love tipping an upset, and for me this one has upset written all over it. Robinson loves these games as do the Roosters faithful. They’ll be loud in this one and I reckon a Tedesco masterclass gets them over the hump.
Game Seven, Rabbitohs vs Raiders. Col’s Tip, Rabbitohs 13+
The Bunnies looked like they had a good chunk of steak stuck in their throat last week as they nearly managed to choke a massive lead against their Kiwi opposition. This week they’re served an easier task as the Raiders have played their one good game a month now and will get battered away at the burrow.
Game Eight, Titans vs Sharks. Col’s Tip, Titans 13+
The Titans finally got one up last week and I love that they’ve got that winning feeling back, I’m stoked in fact. Sharks a bit cold at the moment and whilst they’re slowed down travelling up to the Titans, it is an ask too big in my opinion.
Col’s Multi of the Week. Jayden Campell Anytime TS, Nick Meaney Anytime TS, James Tedesco Anytime TS and Warriors to win.
