The Harden Country Club is set to officially open their new beer garden this Saturday, February 26, in an event they have dubbed ‘Australiana Day’.

The newly renovated beer garden sits behind the Country Club, adjacent to the new recently built tennis court facilities.
Australiana Day at the beer garden – coined as it’s exactly one month after Australia Day, will commence from 2pm, with an outdoor pizza station and BBQ available, along with awesome drinks specials all day.

The Harden Country Club had initially planned for the recently renovated beer garden to be opened a month earlier to
celebrate Australia Day, however the COVID pandemic caused issues in regards to material supplies.
To celebrate the opening of the new beer garden, the Club will be hosting a free concert starting from 3pm until late on Saturday, with musician Peter Wood from Canberra headlining the show. Peter Wood will be playing an assortment of Australiana music throughout the evening to compliment the festivities. Balloon art will also be available from Chloe from Giggly Wiggly for the kids to enjoy, as well as some fun and games.
Christopher Longbottom, General Manager of the Harden Country Club said the creation of the beer garden was a response to COVID and how patrons have evolved.

“We’ve noticed that people do tend to not want to gather indoors as much anymore,” he said.
“Up until now when the restrictions were in place, the health advice was if you want to gather, do it outdoors.
“The big garden was very much a response to those restrictions. The beer garden is part of our new clubhouse offering as well, so it’s a nice friendly open space, there’s going to be some shade areas as well as some sofa seating.
“It will be a nice place for our members and patrons to relax and enjoy the glorious weather outside with a cool beverage in hand.”

The club are looking at installing outdoor heating for the beer garden once the weather starts to cool down.

The Harden Country Club will also be hosting another free community-based concert in their beer garden on Saturday, 19 March, as ‘80s pop band, Eurogliders, will be in town playing an incredible show.
Local musician Matt Dent will be warming up the crowd from 3pm that afternoon before the Eurogliders go on stage.
The event is a free but ticketed event and will run from 6pm-8pm. Bookings can be made through Eventbrite on the Harden Country Club website.
The capacity of the new beer garden is roughly catered to 300 people, allowing for safety and freedom of space to
create a family orientated event.

“With everything that’s going on, through COVID and the community, the board and I had a discussion about the
Eurogliders concert and obviously we’ve got the addition of the beer garden now,” Longbottom continued.
“So, the board were very supportive of the idea that we create a community-based concert for the people of Harden.”
The Harden Country Club General Manager explained the reasoning behind the free events to give back to the town. “The last few years has been difficult for everyone; we’ve definitely struggled through the COVID period and tried to adapt as best we can, as I’m sure that a lot of businesses around the area have also done,” Longbottom explained.
“There are just certain things that every- one hasn’t been able to do. It’s about giving back to the families of Harden to come out and enjoy a nice afternoon, hopefully with good weather, good music, in a safe environment after all the difficulties that we’ve had.”
Kate Ceberano will also be playing at the Harden Country Club from 6:30pm on Saturday, April 30, which will be an exclusive ticketed event for 140 people in the auditorium.
‘An Evening with Kate Ceberano’ tickets are available through Eventbrite and are priced at $150, which includes a sit-down meal and two drinks.
