Santa will be making an appearance at the Harden-Murrumburrah Family Fun Day, this Saturday after a tour around town with New South Wales SES, Fire and Rescue and police.
Commander at Harden SES, Centaine Walters, said that the run around town gives children the opportunity to meet Santa and emergency services workers.
“We are looking forward to building relationships with the community,” she said.
“The route will begin on Station Street at 5pm, will follow our way through the town, and finish up at the showground.”
The Family Fun Day is running at the Harden-Murrumburrah showgrounds, in place of the annual show this year, due to Coronavirus restrictions.
Secretary of the show committee, Sarah Jones, said that the fun day is a way for the community to celebrate such a difficult two years.
“We thought that we would organise the day, because the show has been cancelled for multiple years now,” she said.
“We would love for people to come along and enjoy themselves, but also support us if they are watching the fireworks.
It is definitely not a profitable event for us, so we would appreciate the donations.”
Sarah explained that the normal membership fees have been waived for this year due to Coronavirus interruptions, however, members who are wishing to donate or still pay their fee can do so at the Bendigo Bank to support the 2022 show.
The Family Fun Day will run this Saturday the 18th from 5pm-9pm, and ticketing costs are $15 per family, or $5 per entry.
