The Bill the Bastard statue is ready, the site has been fully landscaped to completion, but the statue still hasn’t been installed.
Why not?
Sculptor Carl Valerius has been the mainstay of the project since its original conception approximately five years ago.
He believes an accessibility ramp is required at the site to allow all members of the public to enjoy it and he won’t be moving ‘Bill’ from his current home to the site until it’s installed.
The Times understands there are no current plans for the inclusion of a disability ramp at the site.
Thus, leading the scenario to an old-fashioned standoff.
“I will put the horse out there, but not until they have wheelchair access,” Carl said.
