There have been seven new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District reported in NSW Health’s numbers today. Five cases are residents of the Hilltops Local Government Area.
They are a household contacts of a previously reported case and are in home isolation.
One case is a resident of the Griffith LGA who acquired the infection outside of the District and has been in isolation since returning home.
One additional case was announced yesterday.
A person from our District who was being treated at Deniliquin has now been transferred to Melbourne and is included in today’s numbers.
MLHD Public Health Unit is working with Ochre Health Medical Centre, Deniliquin on casual contacts at this practice.
MLHD is also working with Management at VISY following a contained exposure at their VISY Tumut site.
The person is an essential worker who undergoes regular routine testing.
They are now isolating outside of the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.
We thank VISY on having a COVID safety plan in place and their proactive management of the exposure. Additional testing will be available at the Tumut Hospital today Friday 1 October through to Monday 4 October from 2.30 -3.30 pm.
This brings the total number of cases in Griffith LGA to one, Hilltops LGA to 24 and Albury LGA to 7 and one yet to be assigned, with a total of 33 cases in the MLHD since the start of the current outbreak.

GET TESTED
Anyone who has even the mildest symptoms is asked to come forward for testing.
(More testing locations are in the table below.) In Young, testing is available daily until Sunday at the Young Town Hall from 10.00am – 4.00pm.
In Griffith, testing is available at the MLHD Testing Clinic in Yambil Street from 9.30am – 2.30pm daily or at the GP Led Respiratory Clinic in Binya Street from 9.00am – 6.00pm today (Friday 1 October) and 8.00am – 11.00am tomorrow (Saturday 2 October).
The Mobile COVID Testing Clinic has been deployed to Moama to enable people in the area to be tested. It will be located at 6 Meninya Street from 11.00am to 4.00pm today (Friday 1 October) and 9.00am – 1.00pm tomorrow (Saturday 2 October) Testing is also available in Deniliquin at Deniliquin Football Club (via Ochtertyre Street) from 9.00am – 3.00pm today (Friday 1 October 2021 and 9.00am – 1.00pm tomorrow (Saturday 2 October).
The drive-thru COVID Testing Centre is open at the Equex Centre (Copland Street) in Wagga Wagga from 10.00am – 6.00pm daily and at the Murray Street testing centre from 9.00am to 4.00pm daily.

COVID-19 VACCINATION
MLHD has opened walk-in Pfizer vaccinations clinics this week in Griffith and Wagga Wagga for anyone aged between 12 and 59 years. People are asked to bring their Medicare care, photo ID and a facemask. Children should be accompanied by a legal guardian.
