There has been one new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District to 8pm last night.

As reported yesterday, the case is a member of the Kildare Catholic College Community and attended the school site for one day during their infectious period.

All close and casual contacts have been identified.

NSW Health is working closely with the Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga to communicate with those impacted and will continue to correspond with relevant parties through the school.

NSW Health has identified approximately 90 close contacts who are in isolation.

Approximately 100 casual contacts have also been identified and are required to get a COVID test on day three and five from the date of exposure and isolate until they receive a negative test result.

Kildare College has been commended for adhering to strict COVID Safety protocols and minimising the risk of exposure for its community.

NSW Health has been advised that no bus services have been impacted.

There have been no additional cases recorded in the Edward River LGA following an exposure at the Deniliquin Hospital.

The impacted ward has undergone a deep clean.

Patients can be reassured the hospital remains fully operational and presenting to the Emergency Department for care poses no risk to the community.

Anyone that remains concerned by the recent exposures at both Kildare Catholic College and Deniliquin Hospital is encouraged to monitor for symptoms and get a COVID test at the earliest convenience.

Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose and loss of taste or smell.

Other symptoms include fatigue, acute blocked nose (congestion), muscle pain, joint pain, headache, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, unexplained chest pain and conjunctivitis.

The additional case brings the total number of cases in Hilltops LGA to 25, Albury LGA to nine, Edward River LGA to six, Griffith LGA to one, Federation LGA to one and Wagga Wagga LGA to one with a total of 43 cases and one death in the MLHD since the start of the current outbreak.

VENUES OF CONCERN

There is one new venue of concern located in the Wagga Wagga LGA.

Anyone who has attended Best Street Café: 10 Best Street, Wagga Wagga, between 8:45am and 10:00am on Thursday 30th September is considered a casual contact and is required to get a COVID test and isolate until they receive a negative result.

There are no additional venues associated with known cases.

Any new venues of concern will be advised as soon as they are known.
