Saturday of the Long Weekend saw the October Monthly Medal conducted just 2 days out of lockdown with a good sized field all ready to exercise freely and again play in groups of 4.  The weather was fine and the Course coming along nicely from recent rains and also greens recovering well from coring paved the way for an exciting days golf.

Once again, playing to your handicap proved to be at a premium after rain and a loss of fairway run, and this week our winner was the only one to achieve this feat, with nobody bettering their deduction number.

Welcome back Cotter !! Or in this case a former Club Champion that is starting to make a more regular appearance in East Street in Mark Parker.  Mark has shaken the rust off his swing, given it a whirl and popped out with a score of 75 for a nett 71 (par) to claim the Event & Guzzler’s Mug, the A Grade Medal and also the A Grade Scratch result.  Good going Mark and timely with Championships about to commence in this week coming.  I trust the mug this week does not handicap your golf over the Championships.

Our B Grade Medallist was keeping it all in the family, being Mark’s Father – Bernard Parker.  Bernie has knocked out a lovely round of 89 off his handicap of 17 to land at 72 nett comfortably accounted for the B Grade Medal and also the B Grade Scratch.

Balls this week went wayyyyyyyyy back to 77 nett can you believe.  After the Parker clan broke the Club on Vouchers, balls then went to Matt Piesley (72), Tam Kennedy (76), Brendan POÇallaghan (77) and Ashley Hall (77).
