Today New South Wales recorded 1,405 cases and 5 deaths, 4 of these people were not vaccinated and had underlying health conditions.
Western New South Wales saw 24 new case 15 Dubbo, 4 in Walgett, 2 in Bathurst, 2 in Narromine, 1 in Orange.
Parts of Regional NSW will come out of lockdown on Saturday with the Riverina included.
Deputy Premier John Barilaro said “vast amounts of the regions will open – these include the Mid North Coast, the north coast, Albury, to Riverina and Murrumbidgee areas.”
“For the areas coming out of lockdown, you are not coming back to a pre-lockdown environment. There will be capacity limits for our hotels, cafes and restaurants, including the four square metre rule, mask wearing, social distancing. There is rules around certain activities that won’t recommence. Community sport won’t be permitted yet.”
Up to five visitors will be allowed in a home, this does not include children.
Up to 20 people can gather in outdoor settings.
Schools will be reopened with level 3 COVIDSafe measures in place.
Hospitality venues can reopen subject to one person per 4 square metre.
Retail stores can also reopen under the one person per 4 square metre rule.
Personal care services can also open with one person per 4 square metre rule, but are capped at 5 clients per premises.
Gyms and indoor recreation facilities can open under the one person per 4 square metre rule and can offer classes for up to 20 people.
Barilaro also said if one active case is recorded in a region then they will go into a minimum 14 day lockdown.
42.5 percent of the eligible population are now fully vaccinated.
There are no active cases of COVID-19 in the Hilltops Council or Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council.
Please remember to wear a mask when leaving your home except when performing strenuous exercise.
Please follow the current Public Health Orders and stay at home unless you have a reasonable excuse to leave.
A reasonable excuse is if you need to:
- obtain food or other goods and services locally
- leave home to go to work if, you cannot reasonably work from home and the business is allowed to be open
- leave home for education if it is not possible to do it at home
- exercise and take outdoor recreation within your local government area or, if you need to cross into another local government area, stay within 5km of your home
- go out for medical or caring reasons, including obtaining a COVID-19 vaccination.
