Can Assist Harden-Murrumburrah are holding a guessing competition as a fundraiser for local families who are affected by cancer.
While working at the Harden Country Club, Rhonda Turner handed Craig Cooper a bottle and set him a task to fill it with 5 cent pieces.
14 years later, Craig has achieved this task and decided that he would like to donate the money to Can Assist.
Rhonda then suggested that Can Assist turn it into a fundraiser and she would donate a Christmas hamper to the person who guesses the closest number.
President Carol Barker said fundraising efforts have not been great since the start of the Pandemic.
“They haven’t been good at all. Cancer knows nothing about COVID, it just keeps happening.” Carol said.
“We really had no fundraising for the last 18 months which makes it very hard.”
Carol believes that the guessing competition is a great way to fundraise some money in these difficult times.
The bottle is currently at the Harden Post Office and will be passed around to various businesses until the winner is announced in December.
The cost is $1 per guess.
