The Coota Tri Colours have been crowned Premiers of the Oilsplus South West Rugby competition, after Central West Rugby made a determination on the current season today which has been held up for the last 3 week by Covid-19 restrictions.
In a statement released on Monday morning, “The Board of Central West Rugby Union (CWRU) have made the difficult decision to abandon our remaining Competitions fo this season. The spread of Covid throughout our communities is an enormous concern and we believe we have a responsibility to our communities to limit travel and potential infection.
The safety and welfare of our players and community are of the utmost importance. At this stage, some teams still involved in Finals have not played or trained in over 4 weeks. Furthermore, when Community Sport is allowed to re-commence, we have concerns on the extremity of restrictions applied to return to play protocols, training limits, crowd limits etc.
It has been determined that Premierships will be awarded. Blowes Cup Competition Premiers are determined by final ladder positions. Congratulations to the following teams; Blowes Cup 1st Grade – Cowra Eagles, Blowes Cup 2nd Grade – Orange Emus, Blowes Cup 3rd Grade – Orange Emus, Blowes Cup Colts – Orange City, Westfund Ferguson Cup – Bathurst Bulldogs.
New Holland Cup, Westfund North, Oilsplus South West Cup and Westfund South West Cups are determined by the winners of their respective Major Semi-Finals. Congratulations to the following teams;
New Holland Cup 1st Grade – Parkes Boars, New Holland Cup 2nd Grade – Mudgee Wombats, Westfund North Cup – Narromine Gorillas
Oilsplus South West Cup – Cootamundra Tri Colours
Westfund South West Cup – Temora Tuskerettes.
We would like to thank all Clubs and their volunteers for what has been a challenging last two seasons. We look forward to a more enjoyable experience in Season 2022.
