Today New South Wales recorded 882 cases as well as two deaths, both had one does of the vaccine and had underlying health conditions.
Cases continue to be contracted in Western NSW with 40 cases recorded overnight including 25 in Dubbo, 5 in Bourke, 4 in Orange and 4 in Narromine.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced face to face learning will return from October 25 with HSC exams pushed back to November 9.
If lockdown is lifted beforehand school will return to normal.
If not, returns will be staggered and follow this timeline: Kindergarten and Year 1 students returning from October 25, Year 2, 6 and 11 will return from November 1 and Years 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10 will return from November 8.
Year 12 students will have full-time access to school campuses from October 25.
School staff will have priority access to vaccines from September 6.
There are no active cases of COVID-19 in the Hilltops Council or Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council.
Please remember to wear a mask when leaving your home except when performing strenuous exercise.
Please follow the current Public Health Orders and stay at home unless you have a reasonable excuse to leave.
A reasonable excuse is if you need to:
- obtain food or other goods and services locally
- leave home to go to work if, you cannot reasonably work from home and the business is allowed to be open
- leave home for education if it is not possible to do it at home
- exercise and take outdoor recreation within your local government area or, if you need to cross into another local government area, stay within 5km of your home
- go out for medical or caring reasons, including obtaining a COVID-19 vaccination.
