The Terry Robinson trained Art Cadeau has taken out the 2021 Newhaven Park Country Championship Final on Saturday

Art Cadeau, ridden by Tommy Berry, took out the championship, finishing in front of Another One, which was ridden by local hoop Nick Heywood, by half a length.

Charmmebaby came in third 2 lengths behind Art Cadeau.

Art Cadeau was always going to be hard to beat having five wins and six, second placings from his eleven starts.

The four-year-old Bay Gelding has now won $499,870 in prize money.

Tommy said when speaking to Racenet “Once I got him into a nice rhythm and he found his front, he pricked his ears and I got a couple of easy sectionals.”

Nick said that Another One “Ran super. Once he gets to the mile you’ll see the best of him.”

Another One’s Trainer Gary Colvin thought it was a very good run.

Gary believes that the barrier draw is what cost the three-year-old the win as Art Cadeau drew an inside barrier which helped it have an easier run.

“We got caught a bit wide, we had a bit of cover but he (Heywood) rode it as best he could and done a great job.” Gary said.

Gary also said “There was no pace in the race which didn’t help, but he ran terrific.”

Another One is feeling good after the race and will now go for a break in the paddock.

Gary will now look towards getting Another One ready for The Kosciuszko race and will have a few runs before racing in the event held at Royal Randwick.

The Other Riverina runner, Bautista, trained by Donna Scott, finished a credible 10th.
