The Australia Day Ambassador for Harden is Graham Ross VMM: Radio broadcaster and television gardening presenter and author, Graham Ross, has educated, entertained, and inspired Australia’s gardening community and green thumbs over his career. Graham is Australia’s most acclaimed horticulturalist being presented with the prestigious Gold Veitch Memorial Medal in London (2011) by the Royal Horticultural Society, he was awarded the Golden Wattle Award in 2014; the highest accolade presented by the Australian Institute of Horticulture, plus multiple horticultural industry awards and 12 Logies for Better Homes & Gardens TV to name a few.
Graham has appeared on Better Homes & Gardens since 1995, he broadcasts weekly the Garden Clinic Show every Saturday and Sunday on 2GB Radio and running the family business, ‘The Garden Clinic’.
Graham began his career working at a nursery from age eleven, graduated from the Ryde School of Horticulture TAFE and has a Dip Ed. Sydney University (Teachers College). Graham has worked in all aspects in the garden, from a seedsman to park superintendent before returning to TAFE to teach horticulture. In 2015 the Prime Minister, Malcom Turnbull, launched the Australian Garden Council foundered and chaired by Graham. This non-for-profit charity has garden education, garden tourism and general gardening in the community.
Breakfast will commence at 8:00am on January 26 with entertainment by local musicians and singers.
This will be followed by the welcome and the awards ceremony, ambassador address and Australian national anthem.
