Covid -19 meant that the Hawks were forced to make a difficult decision regarding the 2020 season earlier on in the year. They, like a number of

clubs across a number of local leagues including George Tooke,
opted not to take part in the season.
It will be full steam ahead for 2021, now that the general public knows more about Covid and evidence that some sporting events can be held has been found, based on both the NRL and regional leagues.
The Hawks will officially open the

new amenities building which now comprises 4 change rooms for men and women, a referees room and media room alongside a brand new canteen, viewing area and grandstand.

Luke said, “It’s 100 years, we built the new building, it should be a good year to be a part of.”

Luke first played seniors as an 18 year old. Currently 34 and set to turn 36 at the conclusion of the 2021 season, Luke’s experience will be vital for the side next year. Well respected by his peers and often the fittest player in the
side, he has connections with players from all over the area.

He has has watched the club transform over the last decade and a half and the town has watched him welcome 4 children with his wife Kristy.

One constant on the pitch has been the assistance of club legend Glen Howe, who will be assisting the Hawks in 2021. Howe, a former player, coach, team manager and strapper will ensure that the Hawks are kept fit and ready to rumble on Saturday afternoons.

Brown highlights Howe’s ability to keep him and other players on the paddock over many years as something vital to the club. “Howie has been great for the Hawks, he seems to have to spent more time on me each year.”

The Hawks will welcome back many of the locals who signed with the club for 2020. There will no doubt be some key signings announced later in the year. Luke said, “We are in talks with a few, there will be a lot of local players back that were unable to play due to Covid and we will have some key signings in the coming months.”

The Hawks will be hoping to field a ladies tackle side coached by David Ings, a league tag side coached by Jason Pollard as well as a joint U19s side between Harden and Boorowa.

Any interested players across all grades are welcome, for any enquiries contact Jason Pollard 0458658224 or inbox the Hawks Facebook page.
